The IT Department receives a special budget annually for replacing outdated or poorly performing computer equipment. Our decisions on what to replace are based on age of the equipment that is being replaced, special needs, special equipment problems, etc. So please provide some backup information, e.g. the specific need, age of the computer, etc.
The new computer can be a desktop or a laptop, depending on your needs. IT will choose the desktop/monitor package, but you can choose most business class laptops from a major vendor and we can source it for you. Otherwise, provide a description of how you will use it and we can find some suitable options. The limit IT will fund this year is $1,700 in total, anything additional must come from other sources of funds.
Please send your requests to: Ron Proschan (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The intention is to provide all faculty and staff with machines fit for their type of work and which are capable of running our current baseline software packages, e.g. Windows 7 and the latest Microsoft Office application.
