Please consult WebAdvisor as the official source for required course materials for each class. We continue to add titles to WebAdvisor as professors submit them, so check back frequently as school approaches. Textbooks are available for purchase through various commercial vendors. This list is not exhaustive, students are encouraged to research other options.
Tip! WebAdvisor will provide you a list of titles, authors, and ISBN (standard numbers) for each book. Always check the ISBN number before you purchase a book. While the author and title may stay the same, each edition of a casebook will have a different ISBN number. Older editions of casebooks tend to be cheaper, but new editions of casebooks tend to include revised legal principles and updated footnotes.
Tip! Remember to check your syllabus, as sometimes you really don't need the whole book, but rather only a few chapters or a portion of the book.

Course Readers are available through the UC Hastings bookstore, which is wholly owned and operated by the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Readers listed are required course materials unless otherwise stated. If no reader is listed for a particular class, then there is no reader for that class at this time. We continue to work on readers as professors submit them, so please check back as school approaches.
Sometimes professors put a copies of course materials on reserve at the library’s circulation desk located on the main (4th floor) of the Law Library. You can search Course Reserves for your professor’s name or the course you are taking.
