          UC Hastings to Celebrate Three Luminaries at Inaugural Honors Gala

          University of California Hastings College of the Law and the UC Hastings Foundation have announced the selection of two alumni and one faculty member who will be honored at the first UC Hastings Honors Gala.

          Recipients to be honored at the inaugural celebration are: 

          • Willie L. Brown Jr. ’58, Alumnus of the Year;
          • Simona Agnolucci ’06, Rising Alumna of the Year; and
          • Professor Roger C. Park, Distinguished Faculty of the Year.

          “I am pleased to present these three notable individuals in anticipation of our first honors gala to be held this fall,” said UC Hastings Chancellor & Dean Frank H. Wu. “Drawing on a more than one hundred year tradition of service to our city, state and nation, these three honorees are excellent examples of the breadth and depth of the impact of UC Hastings on the broader community.”

          Willie L. Brown Jr. ’58 | Alumnus of the Year

          After serving two terms as Mayor of the City and County of San Francisco and as the longest serving speaker of the California State Assembly, Willie Brown remains a political force both locally and nationally.

          Simona Agnolucci ’06 | Rising Alumna of the Year

          From litigating for major firms and cutting-edge tech companies in complex cases to her active pro bono practice representing women fleeing gender-based prosecution, Simona Agnolucci is making her mark.

          Roger C. Park | Distinguished Faculty of the Year

          Professor Park is an internationally recognized scholar and award-winning teacher whose eight books and scores of articles use interdisciplinary methods to examine evidence law.

          The UC Hastings Honors Gala will be held on Friday, October 11th, 2013 at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco. The awards ceremony and reception will kick-off UC Hastings’ Reunion Weekend, October 11-13 which attracts alumni from all over the world.

          “The UC Hastings Foundation is proud to join in celebrating the impressive accomplishments and the numerous remarkable contributions of these three outstanding members of the UC Hastings community,” said UC Hastings Foundation President Gail Flesher.
