There are no measles cases in San Francisco. The best way to prevent measles is to be vaccinated. The vaccine is called MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) and is highly effective. If you are not sure if you or a loved one is vaccinated, check with your doctor. Contact SHS if you have questions about vaccination.

If you obtain your flu shot from your local pharmacy, a referral from the UCH Student Health Services is not required, but you will have to pay out of pocket for the immunization. If you have UC SHIP insurance, you can get fully reimbursed for this charge by submitting a claim form along with the receipt received at the time you are immunized. Claim forms are available online or at SHS. However, you MUST send your claim form along with supplemental documentation to the following address to be reimbursed:
You will be reimbursed 100% of your charges for the immunization. Claim forms for Flu Vaccines MUST be mailed to the following address (along with a copy of your receipt):
