Catherine Conklin '96 Appointed to the Utah Bench

SALT LAKE CITY — The governor has named Catherine S. Conklin as his nominee to fill a coming vacancy in Ogden’s 2nd District Court.

Conklin currently serves as a domestic relations commissioner in the Ogden courthouse, a position she’s held since 2007.

“Catherine possesses both outstanding skills and a breadth of practice areas that will make her an asset to the bench,” said Gov. Gary Herbert in announcing his selection of Conklin. “She has demonstrated a commitment to serving the people of Utah and will now do so as a judge.”

Conklin earned her law degree from UC Hastings College of Law in 1996. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Weber State University in 1991, graduating magna cum laude.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Utah State Senate.
