Casey is a trial attorney and business counselor with 18 years’ experience helping clients resolves their disputes. He is admitted in California (including all federal courts and the Ninth Circuit) and North Carolina. He received his law degree, cum laude, from UC Hastings College of the Law in 1993, and his BA in Economics-Business from UCLA in 1990.
Casey specializes in employment law, insurance coverage/bad faith, and commercial litigation. Prior to founding CLG, Casey was a partner, and led the employment practice groups, of two large regional law firms. He has tried or arbitrated more than a dozen disputes to verdict/judgment in his career, and has helped clients to resolve many more through favorable legal rulings prior to trial. He has prosecuted and defended straightforward two-party cases (and some not so straightforward), complex matters and class actions involving dozens, if not hundreds, of parties. Casey also regularly counsels businesses new and old, large and small, about how best to comply with complex, sometimes conflicting, employment and business regulations. He conducts internal audits of employment practices, offers on-the-spot counseling for businesses facing a touchy situation, and provides training for employers and businesses of all kinds on ways to avoid or minimize the risk of a lawsuit. Casey’s community activities include serving in leadership roles in the California, San Francisco and Contra Costa County bar associations, teaching law students and serving on the Alumni Board of Governors at Hastings, and volunteering in his church and children’s schools.
