The Civil Justice Clinic is pleased to announce its sponsorship of five Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation (HPILF) summer grants this year in the amount of $20,000.

Clinical faculty members Gail Silverstein, Ascanio Piomelli, Eumi Lee, Miye Goishi and Mark Aaronson are allocating a portion of court-awarded attorney’s fees paid to the CJC to support the critical public interest work of UC Hastings students.

“We are proud of the great contributions made by UC Hastings students and graduates through public interest careers and pro bono work. Supporting summer grants is an important way to encourage a life-long commitment to the public interest,” said the Civil Justice Clinic Director, Miye Goishi.

About the Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation

"The Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation supports students at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law who are pursuing careers in public interest. We seek to enrich students' lives and career choices by honoring the integration of the legal field with community service, non-profit employment, public policy advocacy, governmental positions and more. We believe that these lines of work maintain the integrity of the law's role in creating equitable and just societies.
