Faculty should contact the IT Helpdesk to request a presenter account. Once you are in the system, you will receive an email giving you instructions on how to use this system. We recommend first following the instructions on changing your password to something you'll be able to remember when using TurningPoint in the classroom. But please follow the clarifications listed below:
To use ResponseWare, please follow the short steps.
As necessary, download and install one of the following ResponseWare compatible polling applications. If you would like it installed on your Hastings Windows PC, please contact IT, as it can be installed on your computer remotely over the local network (Mac users just click the link below). It is already installed on all Classroom computers.
Launch your TurningPoint app once it is installed.
Then select PowerPoint Polling. On the TurningPoint menubar, click the ResponseWare button. In Office for Windows, you'll find the Turning Point ribbon by clicking the tab in the menubar.
Fill out the form with your full Hastings email address and password, and select the "Require Login" radio button as shown below.
The first time you Login, a window appears with the license agreement. You must accept these terms to continue.
The ResponseWare Window opens. The Session ID and connection information is displayed. Leave this window up, or write the session ID on the board. This session ID will be entered by the students logging in via their laptops or mobile devices.
You can then click Close.
The ResponseWare Window does not need to be open to keep ResponseWare enabled. ResponseWare will remain enabled until the application is closed. The next time the application is opened you will need to repeat these steps to re-enable ResponseWare for your polling sessions.
To load your course roster in automatically from Blackboard, please use the following steps:
Click the Manage button on the TurningPoint menubar and select Create New List.
Then select Download from Integration.
Then fill out the form as follows:
Integration: Pick Blackboard
Server Address:Type https://uchastings.blackboard.com
Username: Hastings username (without the @uchastings.edu)
Password: Hastings password
Then click connect.
Then select the courses rosters you would like to integrate.
When you are back at the TurningPoint software dashboard, you will see under the Manage button that your roster has been loaded.
