Please join me in congratulating Scott Hallahan.
A Sergeant with our Department of Public Safety for almost a decade, Scott has recently completed the process for promotion to the rank of Lieutenant. With extensive training in subjects ranging from internal affairs and narcotics enforcement to crisis intervention and Cleary Act compliance, he also has served in the police reserves with the Broadmoor Police Department. He has been POST Certified in firearms and chemical agents. He has also lived in South Korea, West Germany, Florida, Texas, Washington State, and New York.
In the absence of Chief William (Bill) Palmini, Lieutenant Hallahan will assume operational command of our Department of Public Safety. Chief Palmini has graciously agreed to transition to part-time status, and I thank him.
Our dedicated workforce, including the Department of Public Safety, deserves commendation. I am pleased to have this opportunity on behalf of UC Hastings to ensure the professional advancement of our own.
