The UC Hastings LL.M. program is designed for international students who possess a first degree in law from a university outside of the United States and who wish to spend a year studying in San Francisco specializing in U.S. Legal Studies alongside their J.D. counterparts. The UC Hastings Master of Studies in Law (MSL) is a one-year program designed for students who already have a graduate degree or substantial professional experience in a field other than law and wish to study the law alongside their J.D. counterparts, without becoming practicing lawyers.
