Hastings Bookstore: 2011 Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest

12:00-3:00pm; Hastings Bookstore, 1st Floor, 200 McAllister

Come on down to the Bookstore to view and vote for your favorite pumpkin!  We have prizes for the best 1L, 2L, 3L, and Staff entries as well as a Grand Prize and a Chancellor's Award.  For information on how to enter the contest and pick up your free pumpkin, please see below

 RULES FOR ENTRY

1. Come by the Bookstore anytime this week (Octobert 24-28) to pick up your FREE Pumpkin for carving.  Just make sure to sign your name on our sign up sheet.

2. Once carved, bring your entry to the bookstore between 9:30 am and 11:30 am on
Monday, October 31st . You will be assigned a number for anonymous
judging.  Designer names will be revealed after judging.

3. The winners will be announced the same day as soon as the votes are
tabulated.  Judging will be based on student votes on ballots provided by the
bookstore and will be tabulated at 3:00 PM.

4. This year for the first time, we will also have a Chancellor's Award, given to a lucky pumpkin desginer, as selected by Dean Frank Wu!  All pumpkins are eligible for this award as well as all other voting-based awards described below.

 5. Results will be announced soon after votes are counted.
             You must pick up your entry by 4:00 pm on Monday, Oct. 31st. 

 If you pick up your entry earlier than 3:00 pm, it will be
disqualified.
All entries not picked up by 4:00 pm on Monday will be discarded.

CHANCELLOR'S AWARD: $150 Bookstore Gift Card
GRAND PRIZE: $100 Gift Card
BEST 3RD YEAR ENTRY: Free Cap & Gown Rental (or $75 gift card, winners choice)
BEST 2ND YEAR ENTRY: $50 Gift Card

BEST 1ST YEAR ENTRY: $50 Gift Card

BEST STAFF ENTRY: $50 Gift Card

Halloween Ice Cream Social

12:00-4:00pm; Hastings Bookstore, 1st Floor, 200 McAllister

Come try Mitchell’s Pumpkin ice cream flavor!  You can make your own sundaes with our other delectable flavors, such as Toasted Almond, Thin Mint, Coffee, Vanilla, Strawberries & Cream, Red Raspberry Sorbet, etc. This event is sponsored by Student Services.
