Center for State and Local Government Law Conference: Ethics - The Public Lawyer's Role in Ensuring the Integrity of Public Institutions

Start:  10/23/2009 from 8:15 AM to 4:00 PM
Location:  TBA

The role government lawyers may have played in enabling legally questionable conduct occupies center state nationally and internationally. How do these issues translate to the local level? What is ethically required of local government lawyers who confront corruption or illegality in public office? Must they be enforcers? How do they avoid becoming enablers?

Join keynote speaker The Honorable Marvin R. Baxter '66, Associate Justice, Supreme Court of California, and a panel of the country's experts on professional responsibility for a closer look at these, and other issues, at the cutting edge of ethics. Invited speakers include: UC Hastings Professors Rory Little and Geoffrey Hazard and Professor Kathleen Clark, Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.

Presented by the Center for State and Local Government Law.  Read registration information.
