          Professor Keith Hand Gives Presentation on Human Rights Lawyering in China

          The panel was part of the American Bar Association's annual meeting in San Francisco.

          On August 9, UC Hastings Professor Keith Hand participated in panel event titled "Dancing Handcuffed in a Minefield: China's Hidden Heroes in the Criminal Defense Bar." The panel was held at the ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco and explored the strategies and difficulties of human rights lawyers in China. Terrence Halliday of the American Bar Foundation, Malathi Das of LawAsia, David Taylor of The China Aid Association, and Stanley Lubman of UC Berkeley Law School also participated as panelists.

          A widely known China scholar, Professor Hand also recently returned from an academic mission to China, acting as a delegate of the National Committee on US-China Relations Public Intellectuals Program.
