Moot Court is proud to announce that UC Hastings dominated the Tang Regional Competitions this year.

Vincent Lee (2L) and Nick Ma (2L) were crowned the Western Regional Champions and they received the award for the Second Place Brief. The team was guided and coached by Monica Yun (3L) and alumni coach Henry Truong. The Regional Finalists were Byron Huang and Joy Siu and they were the winners of the Best Brief Award. Byron and Joy were supported by alumni coach Elaine Kuo and student coach Helen Luu (3L).

The Final Round was an exciting and compelling UC Hastings versus UC Hastings match-up with an esteemed roster of Final Round Judges including Judge Leslie Nichols, Judge Bruce Chan, Magistrate Judge Donna Ryu and San Francisco Public Defender Jeff Adachi.

All of the judges were active in their questioning and incredibly impressed with the teams in the Final Round and even more impressed when they found out that both teams were from UC Hastings.

Dorothy and Rachael were coached by alum Kyong Kim and student coach Jamie Cheng.

We are very grateful to all of the judges who helped prepare our teams for their victories and we offer special thanks to Moot Court alum Gavin Masuda who hosted a joint team practice at his firm Latham and Watkins. We also thank our alumni coaches for their dedication to Moot Court and for taking time out of their busy careers to help our students excel. And a special thanks to our Moot Court Fellow Daniel Duan for his excellent work with the Tang teams.
