Moot Court Team Celebrates Winning Season

The UC Hastings Moot Court Team celebrated its winning 2013-14 intercollegiate competition season on April 16, 2014 at the annual Moot Court Awards Ceremony, held at the Regency Center in San Francisco. With the teams winning numerous writing and argument awards both nationally and internationally this year, UC Hastings continues its tradition of excellence in intercollegiate advocacy competition and is currently ranked as the #3 Moot Court program in the country.

The Awards Ceremony also commemorated the year’s local achievements at UC Hastings by recognizing the winners of 1L Moot Court Class Awards. Additionally, The Honorable James Lambden ‘75, retired Justice of the California Court of Appeal, was on hand to announce the winners of the Snodgrass Competition, the internal UC Hastings Moot Court competition. Justice Lambden commented on the school spirit that prevailed at the event and encouraged students to remain committed to the UC Hastings community: “This sort of collegiality will mean so much for your career, so stay involved.”

“We are so happy to recognize and celebrate our team’s outstanding achievements this year,” said Cassandra Shryock ‘14, one of the outgoing Student Moot Court Board Chairs.

“And we’re looking forward to coming back to help out as Alumni,” added Co-Chair David Chang ‘14. “We have loved being a part of the Moot Court program and we want to make sure that next year’s team continues the UC Hastings Moot Court tradition of success!”

Photos from the event are on the UC Hastings Facebook Page.
