Chris Holland is a member of Krieg, Keller, Sloan, Roman & Holland LLP in San Francisco, California. Chris practices in the fields of intellectual property litigation and counseling, with a focus on trial work. His various areas of expertise include patent, trademark, and copyright infringement and related antitrust claims, trademark and patent opinion work, trade dress design, Internet liability issues (such as website advertising and email “spam” disputes), software licensing, and reverse engineering disputes.
Chris has represented companies in a wide variety of industries, including software developers, graphic artists, fashion designers, semiconductor manufacturers, pharmaceutical distributors, makers of industrial adhesives and retail cleansers, oil and gas companies, and advertising agencies. He has worked with clients ranging from multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 corporations to start-up entrepreneurs.
Chris graduated from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 1992, having previously attended the University of Oklahoma, where he received a BS degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1987. Prior to entering the legal profession, he was employed as a reservoir and long-term planning engineer for Tenneco Oil Company, and then Atlantic Richfield Company (“ARCO”).
Chris is a member of the State Bar of California, and the State Bar of New York. He also has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1992, in addition to all four U.S. District Courts in California, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and various other federal appellate courts across the country.
Chris is also a member of the Intellectual Property Sections of the ABA and the San Francisco Bar Association, as well as the Bay Area Intellectual Property Inn of Court. His many honors include being named as one of the Outstanding Young Men in America for 1989.
