Ms. Rubinfeld is a partner in the Labor and Employment department of the firm’s Westlake Village office.
Ms. Rubinfeld represents clients in litigation involving all aspects of employment law. She represents employers in federal and state courts in cases involving wage hour claims, wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, race, national origin, retaliation, disability, interactive process, failure to accommodate, breach of contract, business torts, unfair competition, and other unfair business practices.
Ms. Rubinfeld also represents employers before federal and state administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and the California Labor Commissioner.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Rubinfeld provides advice and counsel on a wide range of employment matters, including compliance with federal and state regulatory statutes. She works with clients to draft confidentiality agreements that protect trade secrets. She advises management to anticipate and manage risk by implementing employment policies, handbooks and training. She writes client alerts and speaks on current developments in employment law.
Ms. Rubinfeld is retained to conduct workplace investigations for public and private sector employers. She has conducted high profile workplace investigations for publicly traded companies, colleges and privately held companies. She is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators, Inc.
She previously served for many years as senior trial attorney for the Los Angeles Office of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Ms. Rubinfeld is a Trustee of the U.C. Hastings Foundation and has served consecutive terms as the Chair of the U.C. Hastings Challenge.
