UC Hastings has a strong tradition of educating and preparing students committed to serving the public interest. The Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation (HPILF) Summer Grants program provides $4000 grants to 1L and 2L students who will have the opportunity to work and serve in the public interest sector to gain invaluable hands on experience.
Students will have experienced real world opportunities to impact the community and gain critical experience in fields like employment law, housing law, disability law, and refugee and human rights law.
Last year more than 100 students applied for HPILF summer grants. Only 10 were awarded.
The goal of this initiative is to significantly increase the number of students who can participate in this program.
