Daniel formed Kapok Pictures, a motion picture development and Production Company, with his wife, writer/director Amy Wendel. Daniel co-wrote and produced the couple's award winning feature film ALL SHE CAN, which premiered in competition at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival (with its previous title BENAVIDES BORN). The film was distributed theatrically by Maya Entertainment and made its television premiere on HBO. Daniel previously wrote, produced, and/or provided legal services for multiple award winning short films with domestic and international festival screenings and airings on the Independent Film Channel and Showtime Networks.
Before turning to film, Daniel was a litigation attorney with San Francisco's Cooper, White & Cooper. He has written book and film reviews for Los Angeles Lawyer Magazineand The Lancet. Daniel is a Member of the Anti-Defamation League's Santa Barbara/Tri-Counties Advisory Board and is Co-Chair of that region's Civil Rights Committee.
